The Locket
Project type
Acrylic on Bristol Board
Date
2022
Location
Imperial, MO
The 2022 acrylic paint development of The Locket was one of the projects from my Design I course at Jefferson College which involved evaluating the design of an individual or an item with the use of monochromatic, split-complementary, triadic, tetradic, and analogous color schemes. For this assignment, I decided to design a golden locket from my grandmother, which included pink diamond leaves and a miniature ceramic rose in the center so I could examine how it would appear in varied warm or cool colors. Some of the color schemes I designed the locket in were a split-complementary color scheme of yellow and violet or an analogous color scheme ranging from red to yellow and the reason why I selected these colors is because they are close to the original pink and gold colors of the locket in real life.
